                                                                9 and 10 year olds (9:45-11am)
                                                               11 and older (10:45-noon)

The Val Vista Lakes Summer Recreational Swim Program is for Val Vista Lakes residents ages 5 to 18 years of age that can swim a minimum of 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke.  The program focuses on stroke improvement, personal achievement, and fun!!!  Swim meets are held an average of once per week to provide each child with an opportunity to practice skills learned.  Meets are not required, but encouraged.   A meet schedule will be posted online and emailed to all registrants prior to the start of the season.

Registration 
The online open registration will be available for Val Vista Lakes' residents at noon on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.  The online open registration will be available thru 10am, Wednesday, April 23, 2008 .  All registrations received during the open registration period are guaranteed space on the summer recreational swim team.  Due to the high demand for this program, guest registrations will be accepted on a space available basis after the open registration period closes.

The open registration process will help us to best meet the demand for our residents by allowing the Head Coach and Recreation Manager to define the age breakdown and practice times based upon the registrations received.  The general format for age groups and practice times is that the youngest age group swims first (as early as 7:30am) and the oldest age group swims last (as late as 12:30pm).   Final age groups and practice schedules for each age group will be posted in the Clubhouse after 5pm on Monday, April 28, 2008 and emailed directly to you.

Late Registration
Registrations received past the open registration deadline of 10am, Wednesday, April 23, 2008 will be accepted on a space available basis only.  A waitlist will be created, on a first-come, first-served basis, for registrations received past the open registration deadline for which there is no space.  Those placed on the waitlist will be contacted if an open space becomes available due to a cancellation.  

Only registered and paid participants may participate in the Val Vista Lakes Swim Team program.  Individuals listed on the waitlist must wait to be contacted before participation.

Swim Suit Information
Swim suit fitting information will be provided with the practice and swim meet schedule that will be emailed to you after 5pm, Monday, April 28. 

Volunteers
The Val Vista Lakes Swim Team program is a family based program and there are many opportunities for parents or older siblings to become involved.  Home swim meets require volunteers to time the swimmers, help record the swimmers' times, hand out place ribbons, announce and start the races, etc.  Parent volunteers are also needed to help plan, organize and execute the much anticipated end of the season Banquet.  We ask that all parents anticipate volunteering their time for a minimum of 1 home swim meet. 

On the first day of Swim Team, please proceed directly to the pool deck with your swim suit and sunscreen on.  Goggles, a swim cap, bottle of water and a towel are a good idea to bring along, and don't forget your smile.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
